We are a small, family-run dementia care home set within a traditional house, not a clinical or institutional environment. Because of this, residents do not feel like they are “in care”; they feel settled, known, and at home. Our size allows us to create a gentle, consistent atmosphere where faces are familiar, routines are respected, and relationships naturally form.
Making the decision to move yourself or a loved one into care is never easy. For many families, the hardest part is the fear that it will feel like leaving home behind. At Seaford Head Retirement Home, we believe it should feel like moving from one familiar, well-loved home into another — warm, calm, and reassuring.

Seaford Head Retirement Home has been owned by the Sammars-Hunt family since 1988 and is located in the coastal town of Seaford, East Sussex. The home sits in the heart of a mature residential area, close to the town centre and the seafront, helping residents remain connected to the life and rhythms of the local community. From the upper floors, there are views across Seaford Bay and Seaford Head Golf Course.
Accommodation comprises ten single rooms and three double rooms. Bedrooms are spacious, individually decorated, and all but one have en-suite facilities. There is a comfortable lounge and a separate dining area, providing relaxed spaces for everyday living. A stair lift is installed to assist residents accessing the first floor.
Being a small home is central to who we are. It means we have the time to truly know each resident — their preferences, habits, and life story — and to provide care that is genuinely person-centred. Our fully trained staff offer consistent, thoughtful support, helping residents feel safe, comfortable, and valued.
We are also able to keep our fees more affordable than many larger homes, as we focus our resources on care rather than overheads. Our priority has always been simple: to provide good, honest care in a place that feels like home.
At Seaford Head Retirement Home, residents are not defined by their diagnosis. They are welcomed as individuals, supported with dignity, and cared for in a setting that feels familiar and reassuring — for them, and for the people who love them.
